ELVIS-75th Anniversary-1935-2010 cntd...

Elvis was mainly a singer, not so much a vocalist, although he put pure emotion in a lot of his songs. An ENTERTAINER in every meaning of the word.

ELVIS PRESLEY-I Got Lucky-RCA, SONY/BMG-4.5 Stars ( for enjoyment )

....A lesser known collection of tunes but still has many faves for me. Up beat tunes like: I Got Lucky, What A Wonderful Life, Riding The Rainbow, The Love Machine and Fools Fall In Love (to fast to fit in, but..) also You Gotta Stop. Two ballads are my most favourite cuts on this release: I Need Somebody To Lean On-the piano and guitar are PERFECT, Elvis vocal is at his best, a very emotional feeling. Home Is Where The Heart Is does the same for Elvis vocally, strong emotion and feeling, these arn't well known songs but are great.

ELVIS PRESLEY-G. I. Blues-RCA/Sony MUSIC-6 Stars ( for enjoyment )

...G. I. Blues is in the top 5 favourite Elvis movies/soundtracks for me. Even though I haven't watched it in years I can picture a scene in the movie for most of the songs. To make it brief; Elvis is still at his vocal best, the music sounds great and The Jordanaires are perfect backing. I enjoy the whole CD, all songs like...Tonight Is So Right For Love, Frankfurt Special, Wooden Heart, G. I. Blues, Pocketful Of Rainbows, Big Boots, Didja Ever and even Blue Suede Shoes...no song let downs on this release. Elvis at his best...showing how he got to where he did. ENJOY, I did many times.
